Pre J20 Testing

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

We will be testing before the Jamboree event in the coming months. We need the car set up perfect, as J20 will certainly be tough this year.
There is a Test and Tune event at Sydney Dragway on the 25th of July, or Track Championship 1 on 31st July/1st August.

Stay Tuned www.sydneydragway.com.au

EDIT: We were only able to do 2 runs on 25th of July due to a delayed start and a rain delay during the day. First pass we launched and then wheelspun before the 60ft line and aborted the run. The second pass was a good 9.399 @ 142MPH, with the power turned down abit to test the recently re-adjusted rear end.  Pics here.

EDIT2: A delayed start at the track championship on July 31st, resulted in 2 runs instead of 3. The consistancy we have been chasing is now a reality: first pass was 9.396 @ 142 (compared to last weeks 9.399) and second was 9.385 @ 141.3MPH. The car is now launching straight again too. Pics and vids.

Private Track Day

Friday, June 18th, 2010

We will be testing at a Private Track Day soon at WSID, to exercise the right foot, as the new season is fast approaching.

Edit: One 5 minute rain delay was the only weather problem for the cool winter day. The track was nice and sticky for everyone, thanks to the meeting the day before. ‘El Sniper’ Starlet debut resulted in one good 8.2 sec pass at the end of the day. ‘Dragme’ returned in its new form with new driver, resulting in a underperforming 9.3, but showing its potential.

7SINS ran consistant 3 x 9.3 second passes and 4 x 9.2 second passes, with some issues to iron out before J20 in August.

Pics and vids.  Video of 7SINS, Pictures include ‘El Sniper’  and ‘DRAGME’. More soon.

Back in da House

7SINS has been repaired and is ready to rock ‘n’ roll again.
The gearbox has been repaired, serviced and modded with a larger oil pan to maximise its reliability. A servicing routine has also been introduced to prevent costly breakages.

The original mazda RX7 fuel tank, the pre pump and surge tank have been replaced with a fuel cell for easier filling and keeping an eye on fuel level, not to mention the weight saving as well.

In the engine bay, a new oil/air separator tank has been installed, with the engine and geabox breather hoses being fed into it. The original radiator overflow bottle has also been replaced. The final touch is the Garrett turbo beenie, which has dropped the inlet and underbonnet air temps by a significant amount.
